On the BR Capital platform, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is triggered during specific actions that require identity verification, such as:
- Account recovery (e.g. password reset)
- Unlocking a soft-locked account
When MFA is triggered, you will receive:
- an OTP via email, followed by
- an OTP via SMS
Both OTPs must be entered correctly to proceed.
Types of account locks
A soft-locked account is temporarily locked, typically due to multiple failed login attempts. This can be resolved by the user through the verification process.
A hard-locked account is a more serious restriction, usually triggered by security concerns or policy-related checks. Assistance from the BR Capital support team is required to unlock the account.
