Important Security Alert - Unauthorized Trading Activities

The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) and Bursa Malaysia had received reports on Thursday afternoon, 24 April 2025, whereby a few brokers have identified failed client logins or unauthorised access and trading activities executed via limited clients' online trading accounts.

Can the Administrator, Executor, or beneficiary transfer the deceased depositor’s securities directly to a third party’s CDS account?

During the submission of the application for Transmission of Title for a deceased depositor, the Administrator or Executor may transfer the depositor’s securities directly to a third party’s CDS account, provided the instruction is stated in the Notification of Death of Depositor form (Form A).

However, if the beneficiary is specifically named in the Distribution Order (Borang E – Surat Kuasa from Bahagian Pesaka Kecil) or Direction Letter (Surat Arahan) from Amanah Raya, the securities may only be transferred to the beneficiary’s own CDS account.
