Yes, you can also register as an Investor on BR Capital's platform as long as you fulfil the Investor eligibility criteria.
- Individual Investor, who must:
- - be 18 years old and above;
- - have a National Registration Identity Card (NRIC) (if a Malaysian citizen) or valid passport (if you are not a Malaysian citizen);
- - a valid permanent address in Malaysia;
- Non-individual Investor, who must:
- be a company incorporated in Malaysia and/or properly registered with the Registrar of Businesses or the Companies Commission of Malaysia
Both categories of investors above must also fulfil the below criteria:
- you must be a Tax Resident in Malaysia only within the meaning of the Income Tax Act 1967 (“Resident Investor”);
- you are not a “U.S. Person”;
U.S Person means a U.S. citizen or resident individual, a partnership or corporation organized in the U.S. or under the laws of the U.S. or any State thereof, a trust if (i) a court within the U.S. would have authority under applicable law to render orders or judgements concerning substantially all issues regarding administration of the trust, and (ii) one or more U.S. Persons have the authority to control all substantial decisions of the trust, or an estate of a decedent that is a citizen or resident of the U.S;
- you shall have a valid email address for receiving electronic communications and log-in details;
- you shall have and maintain, a bank account in your own name or company name (where applicable) with a financial institution in Malaysia, which is valid and able to effect electronic payment or telegraphic transfer to us;
- you shall pass our internal verification and checking process as well as FATCA and CRS declaration verification as required by the Malaysian legislations; and
- you must declare the category of Investor you belong to, i.e. Angel Investor, Retail Investor or Sophisticated Investor.
